This is the first of the big block Can Am cars, this 800 HP "ground pounder" was campaigned in the 1970's, driven by the likes of Dan Gurney and Denny Hulme. A jewel in the Mathews Collection, it still races in Historic Racing Can-Am events across the country. The Central City Parkway is estimated to take just 12 minutes from I-70 in good weather conditions, but during the closed course event, Mathews raced up the hill in less than 8 minutes.
